Our Mission Statement

We grow our oyster by both methods; Pouches for individual oysters and string oysters for shucking. The oysters are suspended on deep-water rafts that are anchored in Talbot Cove on West Redonda Island .

The area is pristine with cold clear waters that provide feed for the oysters. The clean water is monitored before and during the harvesting. Great care is taken in the handling of the oysters. Chief’s Pride is now known throughout Asia for the quality of our oysters marketed today.

Chief’s Pride smoked oysters are a new product for this company. However the people that process our oysters have many years of experience. Deep Bay Harvest Ltd does the processing (shucking) and St Jean ’s in Ladysmith the smoking, both companies are on Vancouver Island .

Our oysters are cut into bite size pieces, smoked and canned in their own nectar; there is no oil added or other liquid.  The oysters have gentle smoke flavour with firm texture that people prefer.

Our quality oysters enter this process and a superior quality product is delivered to the market.  To date persons that have tried our product have provided Chief’s Pride with positive comments on the taste. Some people that are not totally enthusiastic about smoked oysters have developed a liking for Chief’s Pride smoked oysters.
