18 Steps to a Balanced Life

Goal Setting

  • I know every one is telling you that you have to have goals,
  • Power of goal setting can never be underestimated, but the goals you do set have to be realistic.
  • To create a balanced life we have to have goals for each of be areas that make up are being.  Spirituality, relationships, health, personal growth, prosperity, community.
  • For each of these areas of our core being we have to set three or more goals writing down review as many times you wish, and realignment every six months if they are unrealistic review and adjust them.
  • Also share your dreams and aspirations with someone close so when things get though they can gently remind you.
  • Be sure your personal goals are aligned with business goals if you are self-employed. To achieve these goals you need your natural energy, there are many energy robbers of this precious commodity.
  • The difference in goal setting and dreaming is ….. a plan
  • And if you really want to stay focused hire a Coach!

Commitments

  • Keeping commitments takes a lot of discipline, people have the greatest intentions but follow through it is the problem.
  • In my 17 years of self-employment I have come across many individuals including some of my employees and my Coaching clients with very low self-esteem.
  • If you’re one of these people break commitments, I have news for you are not alone. It’s a worldwide problem but what it’s costing you is a major energy loss.
  • Every commitment that you break the strand energy comes out of top head in attaches to that commitment, and another hair attaches to the object or person that you broke the commitment with,
  • I know people who’s hair looks like they put their finger in the light socket.
  • Completing your incompletes
  • Completing your incompletes takes as much discipline as keeping commitments.
  • This concept of incompletes not only will rob you of energy, but it will give you felling of failure until they are put away or finished.
  • Remember that diet you started Jan 1 with great intentions, it only lasted a few months yet the formulas are still on the counter staring in the face saying failure, failure. Just throw it out, or try again, anything, but just sitting there, robbing your energy.
  • You those books you intended to read beside your bed
  • Great intentions but don’t just feel bad that you have not read them especially the one with the book mark in it half way through and very dusty.
  • Take the bookmark out and reschedule it for another time. Put away all unfinished unstarted books and breath deep you’re free!

Connect with your higher power

  • Spend a few minutes in quiet prayer or meditation.
  • Study after study shows that spiritual people live longer and cope better with stress. "In terms of how you cope, whether it's meditation, prayer or going to church, it seems to have a positive effect," says Dr. Marilyn Baetz, a psychiatrist at the University of Saskatchewan. Dr. Baetz recently completed a study that found depressed patients who practiced their own form of spirituality coped better than a control group

Exercise your brain and have a yearning for knowledge

  • Exercise your brain like you with your body with many tough exercises and provocative thoughts.
  • Like your muscles needs stretching so does your brain, commit to do personal development, hire a coach, read a good book, create a zest for knowledge.
  • And if you’re like me you get about on tape. Higher levels of education have been linked to better health, decreased risk of Alzheimer's disease, and increased survival rates following heart attack.
  • Heart doctors involved in an international study examining higher learning and heart attack survival suspect that education helps patients understand disease and how to combat it.
  • So, hit the books.

Start an exercise program

  • Hire a trainer personal trainer to push you! A personal trainer will determine your limits and what you are capable of.  A personal trainer will put you on a program of accelerated fit-ness.
  • Exercise programs are one of the fastest ways to improve your self-esteem and get you feeling good about yourself .a good personal trainer will also advise you on your body type and what would be the best to his for you eat as well.
  • So Get Out There and take Rover for walk. You might enjoy it more than he will. . Pets, meanwhile, are known to reduce the blood pressure levels of their human companions.

Do not sweat the small stuff

  • Quit sweating the small stuff, stress will rob your body of energy
  • In role in game exercise class like Tai Chi or yoga, or martial arts.
  • If you think you been suffering from depression seek medical attention, counseling and medication to help as well as exercise.
  • Try to get at least seven hours of sleep per night

Telling the truth

  • Someone told me once only once that if you told the truth about everything, that you would never to remember thing from yesterday.
  • The Bible tells us that the truth and will set you free.
  • Telling the truth is part of keeping your commitments.  Don’t you want to be free?

You are what you eat & drink

  • How much water do drink daily?
  • Are you eating water crests foods, (sprouts, melons, grapes etc)?
  • Water allows the body's processes to function smoothly and prevents dehydration, says Ryan. She adds that without adequate water, our bodies become less sensitive to thirst, so we are more likely to confuse thirst with hunger signals and then overeat.
  • Choose mineral water for an added calcium bonus: as much as 50 milligrams in a 250-millilitre serving, depending on the brand. Eat right to booster energy
  • Drink more water thirst it often is mistaken for of hunger cravings.  Research shows us that both of us are chronically dehydrated which makes us sluggish.
  • Up we eat smaller more frequent meals eat fruits and vegetables eat more grain and healthy snacks like power bars

Clean out your closet & spaces

  • Going through your closet is a good metaphor for your life; we’ve had great intentions, to wear some outfits that have been sitting there for six months or more if you can not remember the last time you wore it toss it.
  • Do you remember when you bought that outfit for Sylvia’s party two years ago you have not wore it since.
  • I remember most recently when my wife gave away a pair of jeans that I had custom made for me in the late 80’s. I was chocked I had those pants with me for 12 years only wore them 6 times but they were cool” and they were a 29 waist and I am now a 33-34. But you know she did me a favor, every time I seen those pants I remember the “good ole days” and felt an instant energy drain (age, wild times, could go days without sleep etc).
  • No matter how much I exercise now, the best I could probably slim down to or better yet, want to be a 30-31 waist, get rid of them and move on. And if think you can’t do it, ask a friend who has not attachment to your clothes.
  • Use this same exercise to clean up your clutter in your home or office.

Take control of your credit & finance’s

  • Give your self a financial check up!
  • First call your local credit bureaus and ask to have them send you your credit report
  • This report is what the lenders see order to see if you credit worthy.
  • Not all credit bureaus report the same thing, so call all of them in your area, If you find something that is wrong, or that you are disputing have the credit beareu add your side of the story to the report. And if it’s just plain wrong have them remove it.
  • Create an Asset list, go through house and list every thing of value 9 times out of 10 you may find you have a lot more than you thought, better up your insurance content policy.
  • This asset list is surprisingly effective with small businesses balance sheets; many companies start up with owners doing the books and learn as you go.
  • Many buy small tools & equipment and expense it and never add it to their asset side of the balance sheet. My own company found $57,000 in assets in the 3 years that we expensed by never depreciated.
  • Eliminate duplicate insurance policies; do you know what kind of Life insurance you have?
  • Do I pay the appropriate Tax?
  • If there is any area that you better become an expert in, it’s your finance’s, someone else has the keys to your dream

Be a carer and a sharer

  • Feed your heart be a volunteer.
  • Wonder why a some people of that seem to have all are so miserable, and some people that seem to have it all are very happy.
  • Chances are the ones that are very happy are involved in her community in some shape or form.  Community work has been known to make a person feel good and others as well.
  • As we are all search for fulfillment the people that I have met, the have been volunteers in the community in some way have always been the most joyous.
  • No matter what higher power or religion you believe in, the higher powers called us to help one another into geared to less fortunate if you don't have the finances to give your resources in time many people give money but will not give time in a lot of people need volunteers.
  • Want to grow your business get support the community watch what happens

Stay away from overwhelm

  • Seminar junkie? don’t should on your self
  • Many organized professionals will tell you that if you have a problem with organizing habits, rather than changing the ones you are a have they will enhance them.
  • What that means is that if you drop your coat by the door everyday he that means you should have a hook by the door if you drop your changing the middle of the dresser that means you should have a container their to catch the change, if you're if your telephone message center has papers all over it means you should have a container or tray there. Do you get the picture here?
  • Watch your self talk
  • Do you talk to yourself out loud, or you talk to yourself internally.
  • Either way we all do it. Do blame every one and thing on someone else?
  • t’s what we say to ourselves that counts, we as humans have 60,000 thoughts a day, 95 percent of our thoughts are yesterday.
  • Also 95 percent of population strives for mediocre and only 5 percent strives for excellence.
  • Many of us are still living with past memories of the good old days, rather than thinking of today and the future.
  • We should be thinking and talking to our selves and thinking of the good new future days in what lays a head.
  • Many of today's top executives are future pacers with their thoughts and have good strategies, and they anticipate their competitor’s next move.
  • So they can stay a head. So the next time you are talking to yourself, are your thoughts self-defeating or they self-motivating you! You do have a choice and its what we choose that gives us the energy

Create or Maintain meaningful relationships

  • What good is success if you are cannot share love, celebration, promotions etc, with others who you care for.
  • Do you go into relationships to take? Or do you go into a relationship to give, if you go into a relationship to give you will also receive that same treatment back 10 fold If you want respect give respect if want to be love give love.etc. Bible tells us that whatever we give we will receive back tenfold and this works in relationships is well.
  • Here some stats for you! Men we  speak 12500 words a day 12450 of them at work leaving just 50 for the spouses and family
  • Women on the other speak 25000 words 12500 at work and still have 12500 left for home!!
  • Yikes now wonder we have so many problems.
  • Ever wonder why he some people have just so when he friends and they always seem to be social butterflies, all the have to you have to do is watch how they treat their friends and spouses.
  • Learn to say I am sorry; one of the biggest relationship killers is to not to be able to admit when you're at fault and to apologize.
  • Do you have the ability to forgive a wrongdoing and put it behind you, or do you carry a grudge and refuse to let go of the hurt or pain someone else has caused you?
  • How we respond to the difficult experiences of life directly affects our spiritual and physical well being. Many lives are ruined by bitterness or a lack of forgiveness.
  • People go through physical and emotional breakdowns because they refuse to forgive other people. The longer we carry a grudge, the heavier it becomes and the more it costs us.
  • Be a great communicator
  • Do the family, friends, co-workers say that you don’t listen to them?
  • Do your children say to you that I told you last week that I had…..?
  • Effective listening is like an art it takes practice. Next time in your in conversation really try to listen, look person in the eyes and knot occasionally so they know that they are being heard, if the conversation is one you might have heard before if you listening intently you probably hear something that you have not heard before.
  • In practice of consulting & coaching one of they main challenges that I have seen is to most corporations is top down communications deficiency most companies are run by entrepreneurs
  • One of the biggest challenges today is many entrepreneurs are running companies, and most entrepreneurs are visionaries, the challenge with visionaries is that they see it in their head, but many fail to put on paper for others to see is well.
  • In my experience as a consultant and coach I have found many companies that are run by entrepreneurs, that the communication from top-down barely exists, i.e.:
  • I was hired as a coach for an owner of company with great entrepreneurial spirit; Austin often wondered why he was the only car still at the office at 7:00 pm. I had a chance to talk to his employees, after talking to all 5 of his employees I found out that I got five different answers of what they thought the company did and its mission.
  • So unless you have mastered the art of mind reading put your thoughts and mission on paper for all to see and buy into.

Managing your states

  • Most of us have triggers that take us one state to another.
  • How we manage or states is what makes is different from one another.
  • We have all are heard of dress success, For some of us putting on a suit and makes us feel powerful and puts us into a different state, how we dress or how we how we stand, or most of all how we think, can instantly change our state...  State management is also of art in patients.
  • When you feel I stoppable what do you look like, what are saying to yourself what is your breathing like.
  • Many people cannot manage their states so they turn to drugs and alcohol for state management. For me I look at problems as challenges so rather than saying I have a big problem here I say I have a big challenge here, I stand my mind and body both go into a different state and say lets take it on. I then spend more time on the solution rather than the challenge itself. Find out what your state management triggers are and play with them. Learn to put your self into that powerful state just by some type of gesture or anchor.

Don’t forget to have fun!

  • Ever feel like life is like being on a hamster wheel!  Everywhere we look people are chasing success.
  • Success means different thing for different people, but for the majority it means acquiring things & money.
  • Well I say STOP!  And look around! You may be there already! Enjoy where you are now! Have some FUN treat your self and family you deserve it.
  • The stats say that the people that hate their jobs are staggering!
  • I say Quit and do something you like or better yet something you’re good at. You know ole saying about a person on the their death bed wishing that they had spent more time at the office. Ya right
