Last month you were invited to assess the health of your business
(The Doing) and the month before you assessed yourself (The Being). Now
that you have had a chance to assess your life from both a personal and
business perspective you hopefully have a clear idea of the success you
are achieving and where you are longing for something different.
This month you are invited to get really specific about your focus. The
last couple months have been about raising your level of awareness. The
next step towards manifesting your goals is to write them down. A
university study found only 3 percent of the students had written
goals. 20 years later, the same 3 percent were wealthier than the other
97% combined. So, never underestimate the power of writing things down.
Take this opportunity to get clear. The following exercise will guide
you through the process of articulating what I like to call your
“Primary Focus”.
Before you begin, take a moment to review and reflect on the Self and
Business Assessments you completed over the last couple of months. Now
move into the exercise…..
Primary Focus
Identify five areas in respect to your business and you’re self that
you want held as your main focus during the next 3, 6 or 12 months. For
each focus area provide a simple heading and a description of a
measurable result. For example:
BE MORE PRODUCTIVE.
I have a system to follow up on calls and letters, I’m on time, I get
all tasks accomplished, and I have realistic goals for new projects.
1.
2.
3.
4.
5.
Now that you have completed this exercise place it somewhere you can
see it on a daily basis. I recommend you review and redo this process a
few times a year as you begin to accomplish what you set out to do
originally.
Remember to have fun with it and enjoy the learning that inevitably comes with moving forward!
Next month we will look at taking actions towards manifesting our
Primary Focus and Tamara, our Business Advisor will provide you with
some useful tool for fine tuning your business.
